Never a Dull Moment

It's 5am and I'm taking take the pooch downstairs for her morning constitutional and see news trucks parked across the street. I'm thinking what the hell happened while Ramona is making friends with the KNX radio van man.  He asks "did you hear anything last night around 1pm?" I say, "well I thought someone hit a car in the alley, I heard a crash and then some yelling." Sadly, NOT an unusual thing in my hood, yelling that is, so I'd  gone back to sleep. He goes on to explain it started on Canyon Drive and it was a car jacking. Seems a man was a good samaritan. He'd been flagged down by two men in a van who said they needed help. Long story short they got him in their van and while he was looking for something at their bequest they got into his car and started to drive away. He ran after them, jumped in the car, partially and was dragged half way down the block.  Car jackers got away. He's battered and bruised and ended up where the news trucks were parked this morning. Across the street from my apartment. Oh my!

It's Just WRONG!

I can deal with the Party store already displaying Halloween costumes.
But this is WRONG. Just wrong. It's only August for gawd sake.
Birth of Jesus my ass. More like the birth of commercialism.
Ho Ho Ho!

Recycling As Art

Love it! Love it! Love it!
This 8 foot tall, 300 pound chicken composed of safety cones is by artist
Lana Shuttleworth. It now resides at JCL Barricades, a place all Location professionals know well as it's owned and operated by a retired Location Manager.  Jim made his company the "go to" company for the barricades, cones, and directional signs we use in the biz.
This is the POV when you exit the 10 Freeway. I'm still smiling!

Foggy Day LA

There was a traffic jam of hikers climbing to the Observatory this morning .
Have not seen that many people up and at' em on a weekday.
Early mornings have been cool and comforting. Even a little eerie.
And after nearly bumping into folks on the way up
I snap this from the parapet of the Observatory and see no one.
Lost in a fog!?!
