Tustin Chili Cookoff

Slapped my spirit of adventure awake and headed South down
I-5 to burg of Tustin in Orange County. Charming downtown.
Well preserved 40's-60's architecture. A throw back to old
California charm. Arrived early. No surprise.

Fun. Some good chili, some bad chili. Great people watching.
Left just as it started to get crowded. No traffic on the freeway.
Home in 35 minutes. Now THAT's something.

Early AM Calm

Woke up at an ungodly hour but I do love the quiet calm.
Surfed the web, paid a few bills, fed the gatos and am
now listening to some wonderful jazz as I write this post.

Not sure if I'm going to head South to the Chili Cook Off
in Tustin or visit the Glendale Forest Lawn to locate Clayton
Moore's grave today. Hi Ho Silver.

OR sit on my ass here at home and watch TV all day.

Let's hope I find the motivation to hit the road.

Exploration is the key.

Omaha Beach

6 miles long. 2 miles wide.

I'm listening D Day remembrances on FOX.
Yes, FOX, the evil incarnate, but the ONLY
network that has chosen to carry this
program LIVE without interruption. All other
cable networks have decided to shill.

I have not visited Normandy but plan
to do so. Tears came to my eyes at the
new WWII Memorial in D.C. I shall weep
at Normandy.

Obama is now at the podium.

A vet is being shown with his camera
snapping a picture of the President.

Truly, The President is a rock star.

In fact, British Prime Minister,
Gordon Brown's gaff implies it.
Instead of Omaha Beach, he spoke
of Obama Beach.

The American Vets have broken rank
to shake the President's hand.

Look at those faces of those brave
men. Weathered, proud, heroic.

Thoughts for Today

1.) Nobody can drive when it rains in LA!

2.) Isn't Basketball OVER yet?!?

3.) Dick Cheney has delusions of adequacy.

4.) There IS a gasoline rate hike conspiracy!

5.) Arnold will NOT be back.

And The Rains Came

Get out an umbrella it's raining in the Land of La.

Still MUST shop at the 99 Cents Store!

Back home with some hot tea. Time to do the crossword
puzzle. Doesn't get much better than this.
