Huge rainfall last night. Thunder and lightening around 3am. Ramona not pleased and wanted very much to displace the cats from the bed and join me. Had to get up and reassure her everything was okay. Thankfully, that part of the storm front passed over quickly but dang did it rain. Around 7am there was a break so out we went to try a small hike in Griffith Park. Not to be. Road closed due to flooding. I have a 4 Runner so I did venture into the park (wasn't the only one who drove by the road closed sign.) Hopped out to see the normally dry creek rushing with debris filled muddy water.
I then thought let's see what's the LA River looks like. As we reversed course this drenched, injured and starving coyote watched us leave.
Got to the LA River and joined people who were walking and jogging along the river path.
Now that's a water hazard!
Love it when a storm of this caliber hit's the Land of la. Totally changes the sun drenched image.
