Shit

The new year isn't starting off well.  Ramona has been struggling with hind leg issues for the last few weeks. Stumbling and falling over. Took her to an orthopedic surgeon yesterday to have her spine evaluated. Irony of ironies.  Her spine is fine but her lungs are riddled with something. The Xray looked like she'd eaten bb's and marbles and they lodged in her lung cavity.  Two things it could be. Fungal infection or cancer. As far as the her tipsiness it's probably due a stroke. A neurological issue, not physical one.  So we get an answer to one issue and a very disheartening surprise.  We did have a fungal blood test administered and await results.  My gut feeling is it's not fungal. Her not eating, weight loss and tired nature which I originally chalked up to a new food and her pain medication might not be the result of those things. Adapting a wait and see demeanor but... 2013 sucks so far.
