Thoughts
Not a city girl. Dwell in one of the largest on the planet but don't embrace it. Walking around the Hollywood Reservoir this morning I engulfed the quiet. As I strode, I felt myself elsewhere, strolling among redwoods or pine trees. The air crisp. A stillness surrounding me. No police sirens, news helicopters, or the constant, never ending hum of traffic to pervade the quiet. I yearn for that calm. Yes, I love having the ability to taste, devour and experience a vast array of ethnic foods that a large metropolitan city offers. That's a given. But is that all a city offers me. Of course not. When I'm in London, NY or any other metropolitan center I visit museums, libraries, see plays, enjoy parks and explore nooks and crannies. Not here. Not in LA. Maybe that's it. Los Angeles. I suspect I'd venture out more in San Francisco, Seattle or Boston if I lived one of those urban junctures. Hmmmm. Maybe I should say, not an Angeleno! Wow, what a relief!!!
