I took these photos outside Belfast City Hall in the Garden of Remembrance on Friday as I walked around Belfast from the pre dawn hours till about 1:30pm. Leisurely look of a city that has so changed since my 1997 visit.
Fish Eye
I just don't get it. Apparently a huge hit.
Albert Memorial Clock Tower in Queen's Square
The Beacon of Hope Sculpture along the Laganside Waterfront in Thanksgiving Square. None of this was here in 1997. Total revitalization. All within the last decade. Well done.
Downtown Belfast waking up.
Playing with the camera. Loads of murals in Belfast.
Breaking Bad With Zorro.
Sun's Up
Yep, Serial Killer Eyes.
Turned a corner, wandered down a hallway and found the Belfast Cathedral, St. Anne's.
Actually the Cathedral is behind me but I liked this shot.
St. Anne's
The reflection of stain glass in the rectory cross.
Time for Breakfast. This cute place called my name.
They'd just open a month ago.
I am going back for lunch before I leave.
Before
After.
Replenished, more to explore.
But first a quick stop at a Pound Store. Pigs or Princesses?
Christmas decor already adorns it
Belfast City Hall. Last time I was here it was surrounded by armed guards.
Progress.
Okay, time to hit the pause button, to shower and get ready to go out this fine Sunday morning. I think we are all going to prison.
But before that I must say this is a brilliant concept. P for a Pound!
P is Parking of Course but found amusing in my own silly way.
We hit the pause button and are going to prison later this afternoon, Crumlin
Road Gaol to be exact.
So we had breakfast and are sitting here with out laptops, 60's music playing off Toad's iPad, sipping tea. Sunshine but VERY brisk outside, brrrrrr.
In continuation of last Friday
Found an area that hadn't yet seen new development
Location Scout's delight. Perfect for "EXT Derelict Building."
Or Dead Body Drop.
More wandering and I was near the Victoria Shopping Mall. Perfect for a restroom break and a reminder why the jolly fat man terrified me as a child.
I swear finding my pics for this day seems never ending. Taking a break. Yes, it was a VERY long break but in reality who cares. Saturday and today's pictures might be posted tonight but I wouldn't count on it. Absolutely sated on a FABULOUS Mourne's Seafood dinner that Ms Bernie and I devoured after a day of touring a prison and the Shankill Road neighborhood. Back to Friday.
After passing through S. Belfast walked a ways sensed I needed to turn left so I did and after a few blocks realized I was once again near St. George's Market.
A spot I'd visited the first day I went out and about.
When I am old I shall wear purple
Pack o'Meat
With a Melon?
I love these burgers! I do! I do!
Oh shut up Charles!
I'll say no more!
Once I enjoyed the people watching I headed over to McHugh's for some iron intake. Medicinal dosages of course.
May I just point out a stark reality. Do you see the initials that are on Guinness glasses.
Seriously, destiny.
Then out the door and off to the apartment. One can see the weather has been very nice and people are enjoying it.
