The cold is full blown now. Rats. Thankfully I know I'll always catch one while I'm here so I made a point of bringing, NyQuil, Airborne, Alka Seltzer Cold Plus, cough drops and Kleenex. Smart traveler. Am not pushing myself either. Quiet easy last day in London yesterday and a good 10 hours of sleep last night. Hoping for the same this evening.
Weather forecast is grim but I'm ever hopeful that the winds that are literally shaking the building tonight disappear at dawn so I can walk down to the beach. Maggie has already given me a set of my own keys. She also made a pot of chicken soup which was divine. Magical powers in chicken soup!!!
I've popped the Ny Quill so before I start to nod off, Saturday, Nov 2.
Took the Bakerloo line from Kilburn Green straight to Waterloo.
Playing with the camera options as I photographed the crowd looking at the departure and arrivals board.
Lunch Time
Can't smoke in the station so....
She's found a spot to rest
Trying to figure out where and how.
Was trying to capture the shadows but couldn't back up any farther. So, off with her head!
This woman is a spitting image of my grandmother Margret. Right down to the dour demeanor. Couldn't get her to smile but did get a thank you and nod when I purchased another Poppy. Got it for Maggie to wear. It's the yearly fund drive which the Brits participate in as a means of support for their veterans. November 9 is Remembrance Day. Taken VERY seriously. Look on you tube if you doubt me. A proper appreciation.
I was so taken by this couple that I stood there for a while watching the interactions.
He's carefully replenishing the supply of poppies.
Where's my train? Where am I going? Why do am I wearing this silly hat?
No, it's that train!
More comings and goings
Oh dear!
Can you imagine what this must look like at Xmas?
It's 13:20 and they still have posted a Platform. My train is the one that departs at 13:35pm. Translation 1:20 and a gate for the 1:35pm departure has yet to be assigned. two seconds after taking this, it posted. Gate 9.
I was in front of 14. Move little feet, move!
Snagged a window seat.
Looking out on a train arriving at Waterloo.
Lunch
First stop our conductor was outside answering questions. I'm shooting the shot
through the glass of the little cabin where he sits in transit.
Tickets please
Artsy fartsy. There were mirrors above the seats. These are folks four rows up.
Played with the vibrant button on the camera.
Wow and I thought what Michael Vick did to animals was cruel.
Bournemouth England
Maggie's studio is on the second floor with the fabulous windows
Fireworks are being set off. Curtains are closed and I am too lazy to get up to look. Guy Fawkes be damned. Night.
