Treasured Moments

Nothing better in life that enjoying treasured moments.  Points in time that stay with you as fond memories.  For me it's making new friends, breaking bread,  and coming up little pieces of Kismet. Oh, and of course, taking photographs.  Today was a trifecta. Even with a cold that was zapping my energy I ventured out for a meet up with the man who helped me visit the Havana Film School.  Sandy Lieberson. A yank who lives here, works in the business and who, two years ago, took the time and responded to my email about Cuba. Something he didn't have to do but did. We met in a charming Gastro pub in his Primrose Hill neighborhood. A wonderful two and half hours of enjoyable conversation with a new friend for life. Simple as that! As we parted he suggested I walk along the canal away from Camden Lock Market and I am so glad I took his advice.  A pleasant stroll where I caught myself singing Waltzing Matilda after I passed a houseboat named Matilda. I'd gotten to his neighborhood by taking the 31 bus but knew I was walking away from it's route. That meant I would need to use my wits to figure out how to get home. Love doing that because it means I learn something new.  Turns out I took the 274 bus, got off at Baker Street, and hopped on the Bakerloo line.  Kilburn Green was 4 stops away. Nice.

The day we went to meet Sarah she'd told us to take the 31 Bus to Camden. Chalk Farm is the stop before so I hopped off there.  Thanks to Google maps already knew all I had to do to get to the Lansdowne Pub was to walk toward the Roundhouse and turn right. Walk a half block and cross over the bridge and turn left.Walk two blocks and there I would be.  Well you all know me. Arrived early so I walked two blocks and revisited the vibrant Camden Lock Market. Ideal place to snap away and I did!

Best way to see London is to sit up top in the front row.

Nearly time to meet Sandy so off I go.
Crossed the bridge, rounded the corner and found a
Actually a pub which was probably full of ghouls and zombies the previous evening.
A window sill
The lovely Primrose Hill Homes and directly across the street,
The Lansdowne Gastro Pub with this on their sign board.
Smart people!
Please note grand dad feeding the bottle.
Sandy arrived and we both enjoyed a bowl of creamy cauliflower and stilton soup. Too die for and a perfect cold remedy. Per his suggestion I walked
along the canal and enjoyed every minute of it.
Moo!
The house boats that dot the Little Venice and Maide Vale canals
See how serene!

Just past here are stairs up to the street.  Walked up and right across the street was an old stone church. The type I love peering inside. As I waited at the stop light noticed a chalk board sign advising the Church cafe was open. Smile.  A pit stop and something sweet for the ride home.

Is this precious or what?  Only been open for 3 weeks.
Home made products from the parishioners, this woman and another baker.
I opted for a piece of apple pie wrapped perfectly in tin foil.
Had it with a glass of milk when I got back to the hotel room.
It had some orange zest in it. Tasty!
The actual front door.  Time for me to check out of the hotel and head via the Bakerloo tube straight to Waterloo station. Heading to the south coast of England for a couple of days at Maggie's. Was just outside to check the weather and there's sun.  At 6am this morning the weather person on BBC 1 was talking rain all day.
The lack of weather prediction is apparently universal.
